(CERI)andotherrelevantunitsaccordingtotherequirementsofDocumentJianBiao〔2007〕

DuringthedevelopmentofthisStandard,thedevelopmentgroupconductedextensive
researchesandtechnicalstudiesonspecifictopics,summedupyearsofpracticesandexperiencesof
designingpulverizedcoalinjection(PCI),andsolicitedopinionsfromvariousunitsand
organizationssuchasmanufacturers,researchinstitutes,designinstitutesandinstitutionsofhigher
education,andfinalizedthedraftthroughseriousreview.
ThisStandardcomprises8chapterswiththemaintechnicalcontentsasfollows:General
provisions,Terms,ProcessandEquipment,Oxygen-enrichedblastandoxygensupplypipeline,
Buildingandstructure,Electricalandinstrumentationcontrol,En專用ergymedia,aswellasFire
protection,securityandenvironmentalprotection.

Aprojectinwhichpulverizedcoalisblownintoblastfurnacethroughthetuyeresbymeansof
pneumaticconveying.
2.0.2
Pulverizedcoalpreparationsystemwithdirectfumedischarge
Apulverizedcoalpreparationsysteminwhichthegasthatentersthecoalpulverizerfordrying
andconveyinginthepreparationsystemiscomposedofthefumeburntbythefumefurnaceandthe
fume(orair)fromthehotstove,andinwhichthesaidgasisalldischargedintotheatmosphere
afterpassingthroughthebag-typecollector,themainexhaustfanandotherequipments.

Pulverizedcoalpreparationsystemwithself-cyclingfume
Apulverizedcoalpreparationsysteminwhichthegasthatentersthecoalpulverizerfordrying
andconveyinginthepreparationsystemissuppliedbythefumeburnbythefumefurnace,andin
whichafterpassingthroughthebag-typecollector,themainexhaustfanandotherequipments,only
partofthesaidgasisdischargedintotheatmosphere,andtherestret專用urnstothecoalpulverizerfor
reuse.

Directpulverizedcoalinjectionsystem
Apulverizedcoalinjectionsysteminwhichthefacilitiesofthepulverizedcoalpreparation
systemandthefacilitiesofthepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemareinstalledinthesameplant
building,andinwhichpulverizedcoaldirectlyentersthepulverizedcoalbin,andthenisblowninto
theblastfurnacethroughthetuyeresbymeansofpneumaticconveyingviatheinjectionsystem
connectedwiththepulverizedcoalbin.

Indirectpulverizedcoalinjectionsystem
Apulverizedcoalinjectionsysteminwhichthefacilitiesofthepulverizedcoalpreparation
systemandthefacilitiesofthepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemareinstalledseparatelyatdifferent
locations,andinwhichpulverizedcoalissenttothepulverizedcoalbinoftheinjectionsystemby
meansofpneumaticconveyingorothermethods,andthenisblownintotheblastfurnacethrough
thetuyerebymeansofpneumaticconveyingviatheinjectiontank.

Serialtanksinjection
Aninjectionm人人文庫(kù)ethod.Twopulverizedcoaltanksarelinkedtogetherinserieswithoneontopof
theother.Thetoptankworksasthestoragetank,itreceivesthepulverizedcoalfromthe
pulverizedcoalbinunderatmosphericpressureandthenfeedsthecoaltothebottomtankunder
pressurizedcondition.Thebottomtankworksastheinjectiontank,itisalwaysinapressurized
statetoinjectthepulverizedcoaltotheblastfurnace.

Paralleltanksinjection
Aninjectionmethod.Thepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemisequippedwithtwoormore
injectiontankswhicharearrangedinparallel.Eachinjectiontankfollowstheprocedureof
injecting-coalcharging-waitingforinjectiontoinjectalternately.

Multiplebranchpipelinestransportation

Aconveyingmethodwhichusesmultiplepipelinesforpneumaticconveyingofpulverizedcoal
fromtheinjectiontanktotheBFtuyeres.Theendsofallthepipelinesaredirectlyconnectedwith
theindividualcoalinjectionlances.

Collectionpipelinetransportation
Aconveyingmethodwhichonlyhasoneortwopipelinesforpneumaticconveyingofpulverized
coalfromtheinjectiontanktotheblastfurnace.Thispipelineisconnectedwiththeentryofa
distributorwhichhasthesamenumberofexitductsasthetuyeresforinjection.Theexitductsof
thedistributorareconnectedwiththeindividualcoalinjectionlances.

Blendedcoalinjection
Amethodbywhichmultipletypesofrawcoalsareblendedasperacertainproportionand
injectedintotheblastfurnaceafterbeingpulverized.

3ProcessandEquipment
3.1GeneralRequirement
3.1.1NewlyconstructedorrenovatedblastfurnacemustinstallPCIfacility.
3.1.2
PCIshallbeappliedwithhighairtemperature,andoxygen-enrichedblastshouldbeused.
3.1.3
Coalshallbechosenfromthefollowingtypes:anthracites;andamongbituminouscoals,
meagercoal,non-cakingcoal,longflamecoal,meagerleancoalandweaklycakingcoal(caking
index≤40).
3.1.4
PCIshallusecoalaccordingtotheactualconditionoflocalcoalresources,andmayuse
blendedcoalaswellaseitheranthraciteorbituminouscoalalone.
3.1.5
PCIfacilityshouldusedirectinjection,andshallbeplacedclosetotheBFinthegeneral
layout.
3.2RequirementontheCoalCharacteristicsandtheCoalType
3.2.1
ThecharacteristicsofthechosencoalandpulverizedcoalindesignsofPCIsystemshall

Astoanynewtypeofcoalusedintheproject,completetechnicaldataincludingthe
physicalandchemicalpropertiesofitsrawcoalandthecharacteristicsofthepulverizedcoalshall

Astothecommonlyusedcoaltypewhichhasalreadybeenusedintheprojectwithoutany
specialproblem,dataofthephysicalandchemicalpropertiesofitsrawcoalshallbecollected.
3.2.2
Ifanycoaltypewhichisexplosiveorpronetospontaneousignitionisused,itshallcomply
withthefollowingrequirements:

Astoanycoaltypewithahighexplosionindex,specialexplosionpreventionshallbe
designed,andtechnicaldatasuchasmaximumexplosionpressureofapulverizedcoalcloud,
maximumrateofpressureriseofapulverizedcoalexplosion,explosionindexofapulverizedcoal
cloudandetc.shallbecollected.

Astoanycoaltypewithahighspontaneousignitiontendency,technicaldatafor
determiningitslevelofspontaneousignitiontendencyshallbecollected.

3.3.1
CoalforPCIshallbechosenaccordingtotheconditionoflocalresources,andcoalwithlow
ash,smallsulfurcontentandgoodgrindabilityshallbechosenasinjectioncoal.Thequalityof
injectioncoalshallbeinaccordancewiththosespecifiedinTable3.3.1.

Thethicknessofcoalplasticlayershallnotbelargerthan10mm.

Coalshallhavethefollowingcharacteristics:goodcombustionperformance,lowignition
temperature,strongreactivenessandhighcalorificvalue.
3.3.4
Thesizeoftherawcoalshouldnotbelargerthan40mm,andfeedingmoisturenotlarger
than12%.
3.4QuantityofPulverizedCoalInjection
3.4.1
PCIquantityshallbedeterminedaccordingtoconditionssuchasrawmaterials,fuels,air
temperature,oxygenenrichment,BFtoppressure,andblasthumidity.PCIquantityunderdifferent
smeltingconditionsshouldbeinaccordancewiththosespecifiedinTable3.4.1,andshallcomply
withthefollowingrequirements:

Ifblastisofnaturalhumidityandthehotairtemperatureisbetween1050°C-1100°C,the
lowerlimitinTable3.4.1shallbeused.

TheupperlimitinTable3.4.1maybeusedunderthefollowingconditions:highcoke
strength,smallslagquantity,dehumidifiedblast,hotairtemperatureof1200°C-1250°C,andBF
toppressureover0.20MPa.

IfthesmeltingconditionsexceedthespecifiedrangeinArticle3.4.1ofthisStandard,PCI
quantitycanbedeterminedthroughcalculatingthetheoreticalcombustiontemperaturebefore
tuyere.Thetheoreticalcombustiontemperaturebeforetuyereshouldbe2100°C±50°C.
3.4.3
EquipmentcapacityofPCIsystemshallbesurplustothePCIquantityforBF,butthe
maximumPCIquantityshouldnotbelargerthan250kg/tHM.
3.5RequirementontheSizeandMoistureofPulverizedCoal
3.5.1
PCIshouldusefinecoalforinjection.Coalwithsizeover90μmshouldaccountfor
20%-25%ofthetotalpulverizedcoal.
3.5.2
Themoistureofpulverizedcoalshallnotbelargerthan1.5%.
3.6StorageBuilding,TransportationandStorageConditionsforRawCoal
3.6.1
PCIsystemshouldhavedrycoalshed.Thedesignofcoalblendingfacilityshallbeableto
accommodatethe人人文庫(kù)requirementofblendingseveraltypesofcoals,andthecoalblendingfacility
shouldbeplacedinsidethedrycoalshed.Rawcoalsshallberespectivelyunloadedtotheirassigned
locationsaccordingtotheirtypesaftertheyenterthedrycoalshed.
3.6.2
Thestoragecapacityofthedrycoalshedforrawcoalshouldbedesignedtoaccommodate
theamountof5to10daysusage.
3.6.3
Foranycoaltypewithahighspontaneousignitiontendency,watershootingdevicesfor
coolingshallbeinstalledinthedrycoalshedtopreventrawcoalfromspontaneousignition.
3.6.4
Theanglebetweentheslopeofcoalblendinghopperandthehorizontalplaneshouldnotbe
smallerthan55°.Grateshallbeinstalledatthetopofthecoalblendinghopper,andcoalfeedershall
beinstalledunderthecoalblendinghopper.Linerandaircannonmaybeinstalledonthecoal

blendinghopperaccordingtotheconditionoftherawcoal.
3.6.5
Theconveyingofrawcoalfromthedrycoalshedtothepulverizedcoalpreparationshop
shoulduseordinarybeltconveyorsorsteeplyinclinedbeltconveyors.Angleofordinarybelt
conveyorshallnotbelargerthan18°.
3.6.6
Ironremoversshallbeinstalledintherawcoalconveyingsystemandinterlockedwiththe
beltconveyorswhichtheyarefixedon.
3.7PulverizedCoalPreparationSystem
3.7.1
Theprocessofthepulverizedcoalpreparationsystemshallcomplywiththefollowing
requirements:
1Exceptforanthracite,pulverizedcoalpreparationsystemofblendedcoalandbituminouscoal
mustbedesignedasperdryinertgas.

Thepulverizedcoalpreparationsystemwhichisdesignedasperdryinertgasmayusethe
followingprocesses:
1
)Pulverizedcoalpreparationprocesswithdirectfumedischarge;
2
)Pulverizedcoalpreparationprocesswithself-cyclingfume.

Inpulverizedcoalpreparationprocesswithdirectfumedischarge,fumefromfumefurnace
andhotstoveshouldbeusedasdryinertgas.

Inpulverizedcoalpreparationprocesswithself-cyclingfumeregulatingdeviceshallbe
installedinthefumepipelinesystem.

Pulverizedcoalpreparationsystemshoulduseprimarybag-typecollectorsystemwith
negativepressure.
3.7.2Themaximumallowableoxygencontentofinertatmosphereunderoperatingconditionofthe
systemshallcomplywiththerequirementsstipulatedinTable3.7.2.

Fumefurnaceshallcomplywiththefollowingrequirements:

ThefuelofthefumefurnaceshouldbeBFgas.Meanwhile,asmallamountofcokeovengas
ornaturalgasshallbesetasideasauxiliaryfuelforignitionandformakingsurethatfirewillnot
extinguishduringnormalproduction.IfthepressureoftheBFgasislowerthanthesetminimum
pressure,thegass人人文庫(kù)hallbeurgentlycutoff.

Thetemperatureofthefumefurnacehearthshouldbelimitedtotherangeof800°C-
1100℃,andnotexceed1200℃atthemaximum.

Fumefurnacesystemshallhavepurgingpointofnitrogenorsteam.

Onesetofcoalpulverizershouldbepairedupwithonesetoffumefurnace.
3.7.4
Rawcoalbunkershallcomplywiththefollowingrequirements:

Theeffectivestoragecapacityofrawcoalbunkershallaccommodate4-8hoursoutputof
thecoalpulverizer.

Theinnersurfaceoftherawcoalbunkershallbesmooth.Thegeometryandstructureof
thebunkershallenableallthecoalinsidetoflowdownsmoothlyanddischargescompletely.

Cylindricalrawcoalbunkermadeofsteelstructureshouldbeusedforcoalofhighcaking
property.Astothelowerpartoftherawcoalbunker,itsexitsectionshouldbehyperbolicwitha
constantcross-sectionalshrinkagenotlargerthan0.7.Astorawcoalbunkerwithanexitsectionof
ordinaryconicalshape,theanglebetweenthewalloftheexitsectionandthehorizontalplaneshall
notbesmallerthan60°.Thediameterofalltherawcoalbunkeroutletsshouldnotbesmallerthan
600mm.Theoutletoftherawcoalbunkershallhaveaircannonormaintenancehandhole.

Astothenon-cylindricalrawcoalbunkerusedforordinaryrawcoal,theanglebetweenthe
intersectinglineofitstwoadjacentwallsandthehorizontalplaneshallnotbesmallerthan55°,and
theanglebetweenitswallandthehorizontalplaneshallnotbesmallerthan60°.Astothenon-
cylindricalrawcoalbunkerusedforcoalofhighcakingpropertyorhighsensitivitytoexplosionand
highspontaneousignitiontendency,theanglebetweentheintersectinglineofitstwoadjacentwalls
andthehorizontalplaneshallnotbesmallerthan65°,andtheanglebetweenitswallandthe
horizontalplaneshallnotbesmallerthan70°.Theinnersideoftheanglebetweenthebunkerstwo
adjacentwallsshallbemadeintotheshapeofacirculararcwiththeradiusofthearcnotsmaller
than200mm.

Theratioofheighttodiameteroftherawcoalbunkershallbesmallerthan5∶1.

Incoldregions,iftherawcoalbunkerismadeofsteelstructure,orifitismadeof
reinforcedconcreteandisclosetothefactoryexteriorwallorexpo專用sedtotheoutdoors,itswalls
shallbeequippedwithanti-freezingandinsulatingmeasures.

Rawcoalbunkershallbeequippedwithlevelindicatororelectronicscale.
3.7.5
Coalpulverizershallcomplywiththefollowingrequirements:
1
Sealedcoalfeedingdevicewithmeasuringfunctionshallbeinstalledbetweentherawcoal
bunkerandthecoalpulverizer.Theshortentryductofthecoalpulverizershouldbeequippedwith
wearliner.
2
Newlyconstructedpulverizedcoalpreparationsystemshoulduseverticalmedium-speed
pulverizer.
3
Thedesignshouldnotincludeastandbycoalpulverizer,andtheavailabilityofthecoal
pulverizershallbecalculatedasper80%-85%.
4Themaximumtemperatureattheexitofthecoalpulverizershallbedeterminedaccordingto
thecoaltypeandthepulverizedcoalpreparationprocess.Astothecoalpulverizerinapulverizedcoal
preparationsystemofanthracite,itsexittemperatureshallnotbehigherthantheallowableoperating

coalaccumulatinginsidethepipeline.Forthepipelinebetweenthecoalpulverizerandthebag-type

betweenthebag-typecollectorandthemainexhaustfan,thevelocityofthematerialshouldbein

3.8PulverizedCoalInjectionSystem
3.8.1
Theprocessofthepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemshallcomplywiththefollowing
requirements:

Thepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemshallusedirectinjectionprocess.

Theconveyingconcentrationofthepulverizedcoalshallnotbesmallerthan20kgsolid/kggas.

Thepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemshalluseparalleltanksinjectionorserialtanks
injection.

Thedesignofthesystemofparalleltanksinjectionshallcomplywiththefollowing
requirements:

)Thereshallbemanualvalve,pneumaticvalveandflexibleconnectionbetweenthe
injectiontanksandthepulverizedcoalbin.

)Thesystemshallbecomposedofthepulverizedcoalbin,thestoragetankandtheinjection
tank.Theeffectivevolumeoftheinjectiontankshouldbe20%-30%largerthanthe
effectivevolumeofthestoragetank.

)Thereshallbemanualvalve,pneumaticvalveandflexibleconnectionbetweenthe
pulverizedcoalbinandthestoragetank;thereshallbemanualvalve,pneumaticvalveand
pressure人人文庫(kù)balancedmetalbellowbetweentheinjectiontankandthestoragetank.

Theinjectiontankshallbeequippedwithelectronicscaleandcalibrationdevice.

Theinjectiontankshallbeequippedwithmechanismthatpreventstheinjectiontankfrom
displacement.
3.8.2
Safetyandexplosionpreventionmeasuresofthepulverizedcoalinjectionsystemshall
complywiththefollowingrequirements:

Whentheblastfurnaceusesanthraciteforinjection,thestoragetankofserialtanks
injectionandtheinjectiontankmayworkinnon-inertatmosphere.Compressedairmaybeusedas
thegasforpressurizationandfluidizationofthestoragetankofserialtanksinjectionandthe
injectiontank,aswellastheconveyinggasintheinjectionpipeline.

Whentheblastfurnaceusesblendedcoalorbituminouscoalforinjection,thestart,running
andstopofthestoragetankofserialtanksinjectionandtheinjectiontankshallbecarriedoutin
inertatmosphere.Itmustusenitrogenasthegasforpressurization,pressurereplenishingand
fluidizationofthestoragetankofserialtanksinjectionandtheinjectiontank;theconveyinggasof
theinjectionpipelinemayusecompressedairornitrogen.
3Whentheblastfurnaceusesblendedcoalorbituminouscoalforinjection,ifanyofthe
followingscenarioshappens,theinjectionpipelinesusingcompressedairastheconveyinggasmust
stopinjectionorswitchtonitrogenastheconveyinggas:
1)Thetanktoppressureoftheinjectiontankislowerthantheconveyingpressureattheexitof
theblendingunit;
2)Thetemperatureinsidethestoragetankofserialtanksinjectionortheinjectiontankis
higherthanthesetupupperlimit;
3)Thepressureofthecompressedairislowerthanthesetuppressure.
3.8.3
Pulverizedcoalbinshallcomplywiththefollowingrequirements:
1
Thepulverizedcoalbinshallbeabletostoreenoughpulverizedcoaltocoveronesmelting
cycleoftheblastfurnacewhenthecoalpulverizerofthepreparationsystemhasafailure.Ifthe
preparationsystemhasmultiplecoalpulverizerstoprovidepulverizedcoalforonesetofblast
furnace,thevolumeofthepulverizedcoalbinshallbecalculatedba專用sedontheconditionthatone
coalpulverizerhasafailure.

Thepulverizedcoalbinshallbetightlysealedandhaveasfewopeningsaspossible.Open-
stylebinshallnotbeused.Thepartwhichchargesthepulverizedcoalintothebinmusthaveair-
lockingfunction.

Theinnersurfaceofthepulverizedcoalbinshallbeflatandsmooth,aswellaswithoutthe
possibilityofpowderaccumulation.Thegeometryandstructureofthebinshallenablethe
pulverizedcoaltoflowdownsmoothly.

Theanglebetweenthewallofthepulverizedcoalbinandthehorizontalplaneshallnotbe
smallerthan65°.Whennon-cylindricalpulverizedcoalbinisused,theanglebetweenthe
intersectinglineofitstwoadjacentwallsandthehorizontalplaneshallnotbesmallerthan60°;and
theinnersideoftheanglebetweenitstwoadjacentwallsshallbemadeintotheshapeofasmooth
circulararcwiththeradiusofthearcnotsmallerthan200mm.

cylindricalpulverizedcoalbinusesitsequivalentdiameterasthereferencevalue.

workingconditionsstipulatedinItem7,oriftheuserhasspecialrequirements,thebinshallbe

Ifthepulverizedcoalbinisnotequippedwithbin-topbag-typedustfilter,itshallbe
equippedwithfixedmoistureabsorptionpipewithremoteoperatedisolatingvalve.

Coalchargingpipesandvalves(ingroup)shallbeinstalledbetweenthelowerpartofthe
pulverizedcoalbinandtheinjectiontank.Thenumberofthecoalch專用argingpipesshallbethesame
asthenumberofthepulverizedcoaltanks.Theanglebetweenthepipeandthehorizontalplane
shouldnotbesmallerthan65°.Threevalvesshallbeinstalledoneachcoalchargingpipe:one
manualvalveonthetop,onepneumaticvalveinthemiddle,andanotherpneumaticvalveonthe
bottom.

Topreventthetemperatureofthepulverizedcoalinsidethepulverizedcoalbinfrom
droppingdowntodewpoint,outerthermalinsulationmeasuresshallbetakenforthebinandsteam
supplementaryheatingshallbeusedforthelowerconesection.

pipelineswhichshallhavethesamenumberasthetuyeres.

Thecollectionpipelinetransportationshouldbeapplicabletoparallelandserialtanks
injection.

Multiplebranchpipelinestransportationshouldbeapplicabletoserialtanksinjection
systemwithaconveyingdistancenotlongerthan200m.

Thediameterofthecollectionpipeforpulverizedcoalinjectionshallbedetermined
accordingtotheconcentrationofthepneumaticconveyingandtheactualvelocityatthebeginning
endinworkingconditionwhenthequantityofinjectedcoalisdecided.
